The BMW India Company has introduced the BMW i5 M60 xDrive electric sedan to the Indian market, with prices beginning at Rs 1.20 crore, ex-showroom. The German brand will use the CBU route to transport this model, the sixth all-electric car manufactured in India, to our respective coastlines.
The BMW i5 M60 xDrive features a stunning design, incorporating an illuminated kidney grille, adaptive LED headlights featuring vertically-stacked twin LED DRLs, slim LED tail lamps, 20-inch M light alloy wheels, complimented by striking red brake calipers, and an M-badge rear spoiler.
Upon entering, you’ll find a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a larger 14.9-inch infotainment system with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, enjoy ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, a Bowers & Wilkins music system, ambient lighting with 15 colors, and more. It has six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, and Attentiveness Assistance for further safety. Moreover, it includes additional amenities like a Reversing Assistant, a 360-degree camera, and climate control adjustable for four different zones.
The BMW i5 M60 xDrive trim comes equipped with a battery pack that has a capacity of 83.9 kWh (81.2 kWh useable) and has a WLTP range of 516 kilometers when the battery is completely charged. Additionally, it features two motors—one per axle—yielding a total of 601 horsepower and 795 Nm of peak torque. The electric vehicle hits 230 km/h, 0-100 km/h in 3.8s.
Regarding charging options, the sedan includes an 11 kW conventional wall charger and offers a 22 kW AC charger. The manufacturer asserts the i5 can receive 205 kW DC charging, enabling 10-80% charging in under thirty minutes.
In India, the BMW i5 comes in Alpine White. For unique options, choose from metallic colors like Brooklyn Grey or Carbon Sophisto Grey.
